Where the job is based: Hybrid (3 days of work from the KD office in Bengaluru). Occasional international travel to the UK if required

 Who we are looking for: 

We are looking for a test automation expert, not just someone who can create automated tests for a project.  You will need to evolve and own the test automation practice within Kerv Digital, developing an organisational automation strategy that can be put in place across multiple client projects which incorporates best practice, consistency in approach, efficiency and quality.   From there you will work with your direct reports to develop a reusable, core Framework as the basis for all we do. 

You are passionate about quality and achieving great outcomes for our customers, with a specific talent and enthusiasm for test automation.   

You will be familiar with a wide range of test automation tools, scripting languages, framework practices and you keep yourself familiar with emerging technologies and approaches that will keep you, Kerv Digital and our clients at the cutting edge of technology. 

You will be deployed onto client projects to provide expertise in test automation, delivering our service and you will also oversee that best practice and quality is being delivered by our entire test automation team members on the projects on which they work.  

As well as having a highly technical capability, you must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, with a variety of audiences that may or may not have a technical background or understanding and be able to influence and drive change where it is required.    

Proven experience in Microsoft Dynamics and Power Platform solutions and creating test automation for them, would be highly desirable as this is a major part of the Kerv Digital offering. 

The majority of our QA team is India based, with the majority of our client projects and stakeholders in the UK. 

Required Experience:  

  • Highly experienced Automation Test Architect, who brings a wealth of QA and automation experience 

  • 12+ years experience in QA and test with at least 6+ years in test automation and automation management 

  • Strong programming knowledge on C#/Java and Javascript

  • Demonstratable knowledge of the ‘What we are Looking For’ criteria 

  • Experience working across multiple concurrent projects 

  • Proven experience of the following: 

  • Developing automation strategy and frameworks 

  • Putting in place and enforcing best practice across teams 

  • Supporting growth within a team 

  • Improving ways of working 

  • Identifying and addressing skills, knowledge and process gaps 

  • identifying issues and trends in automation degradation 

  • Owning specific improvement initiatives 

  • Measuring outcomes 

  • Maintain and improve QA process, procedures and tooling to ensure that the team are able to deliver great quality software to each of our clients 

  • Experience managing QA activities across multiple workstreams – leading, prioritising, escalating, supporting, coaching and mentoring 

  • Ensuring quality standards are met across projects 

  • Identify (and rectify) projects that are turning from Green to Amber (at the earliest stage) - through data and 121s with QA team members 

  • Able to deep dive into projects, including: 

  • Supporting the team, and lifting morale if required 

  • Addressing blocking issues 

  • Getting stuck into the detail (when required) 

  • Able to understand (and resolve) broader and more holistic issues that may be causing an impact 

  • Lead, mentor and nurture a high performing team, with the ability to create training materials and deliver training to various audiences, internally and for our clients 

  • Ability to create a training programme to develop manual QA team members into Automation Engineers 

  • Provide strong technology leadership to deliver high quality projects on time and within budget 

  • Demonstrate high level of interpersonal skills and gravitas  

  • Pre-sales engagement including testing strategy, tooling and other early opportunity activities such as bid-response writing 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills 

  • Experience reviewing and continuously improving testing practises and processes 

  • Understanding key QA metrics, ability to articulate risk, and provide clear and concise reporting to internal and external stakeholders 

  • Liaising with Project Managers, Delivery Managers, Developers, Solution Architects, external stakeholders, including external Test Leads and Managers 

Desirable Experience:  

  • Microsoft Dynamics & Power Platforms 

  • ISTQB Certifications
